Frequently asked questions
Got a question before you open an account, or after your first delivery? You’ll find most answers here.
What would you like to know?
We’ve grouped the questions we hear most often, and answered each one plainly.
Most questions reach us in the same handful of areas, so we have grouped them here by topic. They run from opening an account to how you’re invoiced for what you receive.
We’ll confirm the real value for your site before we accept an order. That’s always in writing.
How do deliveries work?
These four cover everything from placing your order to receiving it on site.
How do I place an order?
Once an account is open, orders go to the depot contact by phone or email. We’ll confirm the product, the volume and the delivery window before we accept one.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on your route and the window your site can receive in. We confirm the lead time when we take your order.
Can I get a fixed delivery window?
Yes, you can. We’ll agree a fixed delivery window before the load leaves the depot, and then plan the rest of the delivery around it.
What happens if a delivery is late?
Every load is tracked, so we’ll usually flag a delay before it’s noticed on site. The depot contact then confirms a new window and what we’ll do to make up for it.
What do you supply and fit?
These four cover what we supply, and how we look after it on its way to your storage.
Which products do you supply?
We supply diesel, petrol, Jet A-1, and lubricants and speciality oils. We also supply biodiesel blending and LNG, and we confirm what your plant can take before we quote.
How do you confirm product quality?
We check handling and quality against our own bulk procedures. If a check cannot be completed, we will not release the product to you.
Do you install storage on site?
Yes, we do. We install and maintain tanks, containment and dispensing under the supply account, sized around site consumption and access after a full survey.
How much storage do I need?
That depends on how much you draw each day and how long you’d need to keep running if a delivery slipped.
How will you be billed?
These four cover how we price your fuel, when we invoice and how you can check a delivery.
How is fuel priced?
Pricing follows the regulated wholesale position, and we’ll confirm it for each delivery. Contracted volumes are priced against the agreed term for its full length.
When am I invoiced?
We invoice for the volume delivered, on the cycle you agree with us when your account opens. Our payment terms are set in your account agreement.
How do I check what was delivered?
You’ll sign for the volume received on each delivery. With metered dispensing on site, that figure can be checked against the meter readings too.
Who do I contact about my account?
Your depot contact handles supply and scheduling. Questions about your account or an invoice can go to the same address, [email protected].
Anything else to ask?
These four come up less often, but they usually decide whether we’re the right supplier for you, so they’re worth asking early.
Do you deliver across all of Zambia?
Yes, we supply sites across Zambia and the Copperbelt, and we assess each route on its own. Movements beyond Zambia are confirmed per contract.
Are you licensed?
Yes, we are. Fields Energy is an ERB-licensed Oil Marketing Company for the importation, sale and distribution of petroleum products in Zambia.
Can you move fuel I have already bought?
Yes, we can. Our haulage service is available on its own for fuel you already own, and we’ll price it per movement against the route.
What is the minimum volume you supply?
It varies by product and route, so we’ll confirm it when your account opens.
Still got a question?
We’d love to help. Send it straight to your depot contact, and we’ll answer you directly.
